The Foundation, which mainly sponsors health initiatives, also sponsors the Albert Schweitzer Music Award. In 1975, Virgil Fox was a Founding Chairman. To date, this prestigious recognition has honored Isaac Stern, Katherine Dunham, Van Cliburn, Mstislav Rostropovich, Leonard Bernstein, John Denver, José Carreras, Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, and Anna Moffo.
